<image:caption>Teaching your dog to walk with a loose-leash can help you both enjoy your walks more together. Loose-leash walking is an essential aspect of a structured walk - walks were owners implement some basic rules like - don't pull me around, leave trash/gross stuff alone if you ask them to, heel next to you, and come back to you when you ask them to. Structured walks help your dog see you as a resource provider rather than the antagonist they must overcome to do things they want to do like walk at a faster pace, bark at other dogs, chase squirrels, etc.</image:caption>

<image:title>Training Videos - Train Your Dog to Heel | Obedience Series</image:title>
<image:caption>This instructional video will teach you how to train your dog to walk in the heel position. Heel is not just a positioning cue, it's a mindset! When you teach your dog the heel position through directional changes, you're actually training your dog to be in a "follow state" of mind - which means they are counting on you for information and leadership instead of pulling, lunging, reacting, etc.</image:caption>

<image:title>Training Videos - #5ToThrive Overview | How to Help Your Dog Thrive Through Daily 5 Minute Training Sessions</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the most difficult obstacles in my pet training career has been to motivate owners to spend a lot of time teaching their dog basic obedience. So, I've launched a campaign aimed to encourage owners to spend at least five minutes a day training their dog called 5 To Thrive. This campaign is meant to educate owners on what their training sessions should look like while providing plenty useful dog training tips. Obedience training is an excellent way to help your dog thrive while also strengthening your relationship, so please, find 5 minutes a day to train your dog! If you'd like to participate in the campaign, post a video of (or part of) a training session with your dog and add the hashtag #5tothrive</image:caption>

<image:caption>After my dog had a gastronomy surgery, my vet told me to keep Lance's mobility to a minimum so he could heal. Since we couldn't walk or play fetch, I made a tool that could help him get some mental exercise and gain back some weight. This video will show you how to build one yourself and how to train your dog to use it. These training concepts can be applied to other training tasks and this tool can also help dogs with separation anxiety since it can keep them occupied for quite a while when they are left alone.</image:caption>

Approaches like this can help build a strong relationship between dog and owner through obedience. A dog's initial understanding of obedience commands like "DROP IT" should be taught through positive means so the dog loves to learn and work for their owner or dog trainer.</image:caption>

<image:caption>"Before Lance started working with us, walking these two was a nightmare. They pulled, were horribly distracted, lunged at any nearby dogs, and made walking a miserable experience. After walking them I'd be in a rage, embarrassed, and in tears. Lance changed all that! The improvement in their behavior was life-changing even after our first session. I had lost all hope of ever having an enjoyable walk with these two. I can happily report that I am proud of their behavior as they heel, stay by my side, walk WITH me, come when instructed, and refrain from lunging at nearby dogs. Lance has greatly improved their lives and mine too! Thanks Lance!" - Rona</image:caption>

<image:caption>"Lance was a very engaging trainer who got my small dog to calm down enough to listen and the patience to work with me, the owner, on how to reinforce what he taught her. Bailey gives him 5 out of 5 stars and asks when he is coming back because he is the fun master and keeper of treats" - Natalie</image:caption>

<image:caption>We are so grateful to have found Lance to help us train our new puppy Kafer. He explains things in such a way that makes sense, so when we go to practice everything in between our sessions, we can do it the same way. He's teaching methods that will be sure to make Kafer a good dog, even off-leash. Lance's experience with dogs shows in the way he handles the dog and knows how to change his instruction based upon the way Kafer responds. He's not just speaking from textbook training. It's clear he has real-life experience. We would be lost trying to train Kafer without Lance's direction. We needed to be trained ourselfs on how to train a dog and Lance is very patient with us and our kids as well.</image:caption>

He not only worked with my schedule and location but educated us on how to properly address this issue. Indy has improved immensely after a few training sessions and we greatly appreciated his help. I've recommended him to friends and would contact him again when we get a new puppy." - Alexis</image:caption>

<image:caption>"Bulma is a 5-year old beagle-shepherd mix who has always loved the outdoors. This became a problem after we moved to an apartment downtown. Though we were walking her at least three times each day and taking her to the dog park, she started expressing her boredom through aggression. We immediately contacted Lance for help. After doing a consultation with Bulma, Lance tailored our training sessions to meet her individual needs. He taught us ways to keep our dogs both physically and mentally engaged so now they are happy both on and off the leash. Peanut is a 5 pound yorkie with a big personality. Like many other small dogs, she makes herself known by barking constantly. We spent quite a few years trying to break her habit, but it wasn't until working with Lance that we finally saw some success. After Lance taught us how to effectively communicate with our dogs through his balance training, Peanut quickly learned some new commands." - Kira</image:caption>
