the Good Dog COURSE (GDC)
All dogs are good dogs, but some need a little more help exhibiting “good dog behaviors” like walking pleasantly on a leash, greeting people politely, and obeying commands consistently despite distractions. The GDC is designed to educate owners on how to create a strong relationship with their dog by creating clear communication and establishing rules/structure that their dog will be happy to comply with! If you have a dog that has minimal behavioral issues and needs to learn basic commands like come, sit, down, stay, heel, and leave it, we can accomplish those goals through three programs:
private training
4, 1 hour classes are held at your home or a nearby park.
Day Training
Clients will drop off and pick up their dog on the same day for 5 days, which comes with two, 1.5 hour classes to train owners how to perform training protocols to maintain their dog’s new skills.
Board & train
For clients not in the Longmont area, 10 days of boarding will help dogs with minimal behavioral problems attain good dog status - includes a 1.5 hour follow-up training session with owners.
The Companion dog Course (Cdc)
The Companion Dog Course is for dogs that may be exhibiting behavioral issues like reactivity, resource guarding, separation anxiety, wariness of strangers, fear aggression, and impulse control issues. The CDC is also for dog owners who start training early with a puppy or for those who want to work on more advanced skills like off-leash obedience or AKC Canine Good Citizen certifications. We can help your dog reach their companionship potential through three programs:
private training
6, 1 hour classes with personalized follow-up instructional emails. In the extra two classes we’ll focus on completing their behavioral modification training or on “companion outings” at dog parks, offices, hikes, breweries, ect.
Day Training
The dog will spend 10 days with the trainer, including 3, 1.5 hour sessions to train owners on how to perform training protocols to maintain new behaviors.
Board & Train
Some behavior modification may require a 15 day board and train program to ensure a dog thoroughly overcomes it’s behavioral problem. Other high companionship goals like off-leash obedience for hiking may require this longer board & train program.
Canine Club
Creating a well educated dog owning community is a long time goal that I’ll pursue my entire career. FreeLance Dog Training’s Canine Club is full of responsible owners who wanted to continue doing fun activities with their dogs after completing a CDC program. These group classes are held 6 times a month at parks and dog friendly establishments in the Front Range area. In classes, dogs can socialize with other humans and dogs safely while advancing their dog’s obedience skills through fun activities and exercises with other dedicated dog owners. In these classes we also perform AKC Certifications, which are fun goals to accomplish with your dog and has many benefits like lowering pet insurance and precedes therapy and service dog training.
